Kalanggaman Island

Kalanggaman Island
PALOMPON, LEYTE

Kalanggaman Island is one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines, known for its long sandbar with creamy white sand and rough coral stones. One side of the island features limestone rock. The beach water surrounding the island is crystal clear and blue, making it irresistible to jump in before reaching the shore. The island's name comes from the Cebuano word "langgam," meaning bird, as it used to be a bird sanctuary.

The municipality of Palompon maintains the island to ensure a pleasant experience for visitors. They have built cottages for day visitors and facilities for washing up and changing clothes. They also keep the island clean, so visitors are required to put their trash in garbage bags for collection.
