Lake Danao, a guitar-shaped lake in Leyte, is a natural gem of Ormoc City. Its serene environment makes it an ideal spot for meditation, relaxation, and enjoying the fresh air to relieve stress. You can experience the calm waters by renting a kayak for PHP150 per hour. Floating cottages are also available for rent, enhancing your stay by the lake. 


PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
from Manila
1. Book a flight from NAIA to Tacloban
2. From Daniel Romualdez Airport,  rent a taxi going to the van terminal.
3. Ride a van at Grandtours terminal going to Ormoc City.
4. Ride a multi-cab going to Lake Danao which can be found near Ormoc City's Public Market across Ormoc City Port.

  • another option is to take a tricycle on a special trip from Ormoc City to Lake Danao for PHP500.
  • another alternative is to take a tricycle going to Barangay Dolores and take a motorcycle (habal-habal) going to Lake Danao

This is our itinerary from Manila to Ormoc City via Tacloban.


0400 Flight from NAIA to Tacloban (PHP 2013)
0600 Ride a taxi going to Grandtours Van Terminal (PHP 300)
0630 Purchased a ticket for a van ride going to Ormoc City. (PHP 130)
0700 Departure of the van at the terminal
1000 ETA Ormoc; We checked in at Nikko's Ark Voyager's Inn. Got some rest and ate lunch.
1300 Multicab ride going to Lake Danao (PHP 40)
1400 ETA Lake Danao National Park; photo ops, kayaking, rented floating cottages (PHP 150 for 1 hour)
1500 Going back to Ormoc City, we requested for the multi-cab driver to wait for us for one hour. (PHP 40)
1600 Back in the beautiful City of Ormoc
1630 City Tour
1800 Dinner at Sutuwaki
1900 Went back to our accommodation

There are no nearby accommodations at the lake, so if you wish to stay longer, you will need to book a hotel in Ormoc City.

The Ruins

THE RUINS Talisay, Negros Occidental The Ruins  are the remains of the ancestral home mansion of the family of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and Maria Braga Lacson. It is situated in  Talisay ,  Negros Occidental , Philippines. The mansion was built in the early 1900s and inspired by  Italian architecture . HISTORY The ancestral home mansion of the family of wealthy sugar baron Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson who built it in the early 1900s, in memory of his Portuguese wife Maria Braga Lacson, who had died during the birth of her eleventh child. It was constructed on a 440-hectare plantation in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, and burned down by the  American colonial masters  during  World War II  to prevent its use as a military office by the  invading Japanese forces .
